ECONCMIC DEVELOPmeNT COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANC[~A COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Econ~nic Develol~nent Cc~mission oonducted a regular meeting on <br />Wednesday, February 10, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen <br />Blvd. N.W. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Don Greenberg, Chairman <br />Mr. Glen Hardin <br />Mr. Jack Ippel <br />Mr. Ken Wagner <br />Mr. Darryl Fults <br />Mr. Tom Kurak <br />Mr. Bernie Vevea <br />Mr. Steve Gorecki <br /> <br />Also Present: Community Develol~nent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mr. Bob Muller <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg called the regular Economic Development Commission <br />meeting to order at 7:40 a.m. <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Case~6.. ~ppearance By_ RmDresentative Ernie Larsen: <br /> <br />Per Chairman Greenberg's request, Representative Larsen was present to <br />discusscommercial/industrial property taxes in Minnesota. <br /> <br />Mr. Larsen noted receiving a copy of Governor Berpich's 1988 property tax <br />reform which proposes a reduction in commercial/industrial property taxes. <br />Mr. 'Sarsen provided the Commission with a copy of the page in that reform <br />that indicates Ramsey's commercial/industrial property taxes would decrease <br />by 9-10%. The proposal would cost the State about $200,000 for a two-year <br />period and the specifics on how those funds would be made up is to be made <br />known on February 11. The House of Representatives' proposal for tax <br />reform should be announced within the next ten days. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg noted that the Commission will be formulating a <br />resolution regarding commercia/industrial property taxes. <br /> <br />Mr. Larsen advised that a copy of that resolution be sent to the Chairman <br /> Economic Development Commission/February 10,1988 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
