FLA~NING AND ZONING C0~ISSION <br />PUBLIC BBAKING <br /> CITY 0E EAKSEY <br /> ANOKA C0U h~rT <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted s public bearing on <br />Tuesday, February 2, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Now:hen <br />Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Roger Suter's request for a <br />conditional use permit to dismantle buses. <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue. <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br /> <br />Chairman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 8:13 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Hr. Roger Surer stated that the buses ,are currently being stored on the <br />Dickenson property on the south side ~'.Hwy. ~10 and he is proposing :o <br />move them :o 14050 Basal: Street for dismantling. <br /> <br />Robert Bro~ - Design Products, Inc. - 14161 Basalt Street - Stated that a <br />bus dismantling opera:ion across the street would be a detriment to his <br />business and give his customers a bad impression; that Ramsey does not need <br />another mess; Basalt already hosts the biggest mess in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Ha. Norris noted that Mr. Brown's comments refer :o :he property just west <br />of Sauter's and .hr. nat:er is at some point zn the court process. <br /> <br />Ed Eamil:oz - 6615 E~?. ~10 N.V. - Stated he owns a 10 a:re parcel adjacent <br />:o 14050 Basalt Street; that :he subjeot property was uusight!y when <br />Dickenson's operation was active; will there be any screening with Mr. <br />Su:er's projeo:? Mr. Eamil:on sma:ed he would prefer a :e=porary bus <br />dismantling business to an asphalt cc=pa=y; whatever is allowed will he a <br />detrimemt to his property. <br /> <br />Mr. Surer stated that he feels his operation could be completed amd cleaned <br />up by Kay 1 but i: shouldn't take more than one year. <br /> <br />Jer.?
