Councilm~ber introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RES(~UrlON %88- <br /> <br /> W~a~FAS, the R~msey City Council has received a petition to subject <br />Ordinance #87-7 to a referenda; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said petition was found to be sufficient and the City <br />Council, with its P~solution ~88-2, established April 19, 1988 as the date for <br />a special election; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to measure the public opinion <br />relating to the establishment of a volunteer fire depar~ent to serve the fire <br />protection needs of the City of Bamsey; and <br /> <br /> W~EAS, it is the desire of the City Council to properly inform the <br />residents of the special election and the issues to be considered. <br /> <br /> O <br />and the following abstained: <br /> O <br /> <br /> 1) That P~msey Staff is directed to prepare a special issue of the <br /> P~msey l~sident to present the facts and projections relating to the airport <br /> zoning ordinance and the possible establishment of a volunteer fire depar~ent. <br /> <br /> 2) A special municipal election shall be held on April 19, 1988 fr~n <br /> 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. where the following questions will be presented for <br /> consideration of the electorate of the City of Ramsey: <br /> <br /> a) Ordinance #87-7 would, if adopted, prevent the establishment <br /> of airport hazards, protect the property and persons on the <br /> ground, and provide aircraft with safe maneuvering space near <br /> the Gateway. Industrial Airport. <br /> <br /> Shall the City of P~msey hdopt Ordinance #87-7? yes / no <br /> <br /> b) The City Council of Ramsey, Minnesota requests the advice of <br /> the electorate.
