When used at the crossing, Nonvehicular signs shall be <br />suppleraented with a diagonal downward pointing arrow <br />(W16-7p) plaque showing the location of the crossing, <br />whether or not there are crosswalk markings at the <br />crossing. <br /> Compliance Date: January 17, 2011 <br /> <br /> OPTION: ] <br /> The crossing location may be defined with crosswalk <br />markings (see Section 3B. 17). <br /> <br /> Pedestrian and School Crossing signs and their related <br />supplemental plaques may have a fluorescent yellow-green <br />background with a black legend and border. <br /> <br /> When a fluorescent yellow-green background is used, a <br />systematic approach featuring one background color within <br />a zone or area should be used. The Playground sign may <br />have a fluorescent yellow-green background with a black <br />legend and border. <br /> <br /> If the access to the playground area requ{res a roadway <br />crossing, thc application of crosswalk pavement marlongs <br />(see Section 3B.17) and Nonvehicular signs (see Section <br />2C.41) should be considered. <br /> <br />2C.43 Use of SupplementalPlaques <br /> <br />[ ornorq: ] <br /> A supplemental plaque may be displayed with a warning <br />sign when engineering judgment indicates that road users <br />require additional information beyond that contained in the <br />main message of the warning sign. <br /> <br /> Supplemental plaques shall be used only in combination <br />with warning or regulatory signs. They shall not be mounted <br />alone or displayed alone.
