Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #06-05-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF CONTRACT WITH BONNIE L. <br />BALACH FOR SPECIAL LEGISILATIVE CONSULTING SERVICES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $5,000 WITH A TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE COUNCIL <br />CONTENGENCY TO THE BUDGET OF LEGAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$5,000 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on January 25, 2005, the City authorized Bonnie L. Balach, a lobbyist, to <br />facilitate special legislation for TIF; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the TIF legislation did not move through the session in 2005 and the <br />legislative work continued into the 2006 session; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Balach has continued to not only represent the City regarding TIF <br />legislation, but has also presented a special port authority legislation for the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the original authorized contract amount with Ms. Balach has been met and <br />additional funding to continue the services of Ms. Balach is needed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, additional funding in the amount of $5,000 would be obtained with a <br />transfer from the 2006 Council Contingency Fund to the budget of Legal Services. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the continuation of the contract with <br /> Bonnie L. Balach for legislative consulting services in the amount of $5,000 with funding <br /> from the 2006 General Fund that requires a transfer from the Council Contingency Fund <br /> to the budget of Legal Services. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and <br />upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 9th day of May, 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />
