WHEREAS, the Development Program contemplates that substantial portions of the <br />Ramsey Crossings area should be redeveloped for commercial development; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the commercial development on the Subject <br />Property is in the public interest and in furtherance of the City's goals and objectives for the <br />Development District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, entry onto the Subject Property is rationally related to the health, safety or <br />welfare concerns of the City in connection with the possible eminent domain proceedings; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is reasonable, necessary, proper, convenient, <br />for a public purpose, and in the interest of the public health, safety, convenience, and general <br />welfare of the citizens of the City that title to and possession of the Subject Property be acquired <br />in furtherance of the Ramsey Crossings Project. <br /> <br />NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />The City Council hereby finds that it is necessary that the Subject Property be acquired in <br />fee simple absolute for the stated public purposes through the exercise of the power of <br />eminent domain. <br /> <br />The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to acquire <br />said real estate by use of eminent domain proceedings. <br /> <br />The motion of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Elvig <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br /> <br />Resolution #06-05-141 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
