CASE ~13: <br />15 Minutes <br /> <br />CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S COM~S~ PLAN <br /> By: Anne Norris, Co~m~nity Develol~nt Director <br /> <br />Background: <br />The City is proposing ar~ amendment to its Comprehensive Plan to expand the <br />boundaries of the City's 1990 Urban Service Area. As you know, the Urban <br />Service Area is that area where the ~tropolitan Council and Metropoitan Waste <br />Control Commission have authorized the extension of utilities. <br />The proposed amendment is in response to several developer's requests to extend <br />utilities to certain proposed residential develol~nents- <br />Enclosed are the following items for your information: <br /> <br /> a) ~p showing e>'isting and proposed Urban Service A~eas <br /> b) Letter from City Engineer P~atikka dated .May 3, 1988 <br /> <br />Observations: <br />On April 5, 1988 the Plannino~ and Zoning Commission cenducted a public hearins <br />on the proposed amendment. <br />At its meeting on April 12, 1988 the Planning and Zoning Commission requested <br />city Engineer Raatikka to review the impact on surrounding residenti~=1 areas of <br />extending utilities to Outlot B, rum Acres Estates. <br />On 5i~y 17, 1988 the Planning and Zoning Com~J~ssion recommended that only that <br />area west of Ramsey Terrace be included in a Comprehensive Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Approve/deny the Comprehensive Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Review C~necklist: <br /> <br />~lninistrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Deve!o~nent Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public ?~orks Superintendent <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
