Hakanson
Anderson
Assoc.,Inc.

Engineers, Surveyors &
Landscape Architects

May 24, 1988

Honorable Mayor & City Council
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Improvemnt Project 88-15
Anoka Sports Center

Dear Council Members:

In accordance with your advertisements for bids on the above
referenced project, five bids were received and opened at 11:15
a.m., May 23, 1988.

The bids were as follows:

Contractor

Total Bid

Stiglich Construction
Glenn Rehbein Escavating
Forest Lake Contracting
Matt Bullock Contracting
Lakeland Nursery, Inc.

$71,388.28
$81,155.78
$88,403.36
$98,959.70
$135,025.30

The engineer's estimated construction cost for the project was
$78,997.50. The total low bid received is approximately 10 percent
under the engineer's estimate.

In addition, the proposed tax increment construction budget for the
project was $70,000. However, through discussion with the
electrical engineer, a straight electric pole can be substituted
for the tapered electric pole in the parking lot which will bring
this p~oject within budget.

References indicate Stiglich Construction is a competent contractor
who has worked locally in the area and we would recommend award of
this project contingent upon the developer entering into a tax
increment financing agreement with the City.

222 Monroe Street
Anoka, Minnesota 55303

612/427-5~60

Eugene J.
