CASE ~15: <br /> <br />5 Minutes <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF MEDIATION sERVICES' <br /> FIRST YEAR OF OPF~RATION <br /> By: Mike Auspos, Police Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br />One year ago the City agreed to take advantage of the concept presented by <br />Mediation Services to arbitrate in matters of conflict arising in the City of <br />Ramsey. These are usually situations which are clearly not of a criminal <br />nature nor are they in the area of civil law insofar as the City is concerned <br />or they may be borderline. Mediation Services is an agency to which such <br />disputes are referred and, if both parties are willing, Mediation Services <br />serves as arbiter. <br />Enclosed for your information is a letter from Ms. Ann Wallerstedt, Executive <br />Director of Mediation Services, and the proposed resolution. <br /> <br />Ooservations: <br />This type of service fills a need that has long been missing in the area of <br />citizen disputes which, by one means or another, gets the City involved.
