May 10, 1988 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FRC~: Anne Norris, Community Develounent Director <br /> <br />RE: ~ddition to Agenda <br /> <br />Please consider the addition of the following case to the agenda <br />for the May 10, 1988 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />AU'I~ORIZE EXE(~3TING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH <br />ANCKA COUNTY FOR RECYCLING GRANT FURDS <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Anoka County has funds available from Metropolitan Council to be <br />distributed to cities for recycling activities. These are <br />matching funds and are available to cities based on performance <br />in achieving local goals for landfill abatement. Based on the <br />City's Landfill Abatement Plan, Ramsey needs to recycle 111 tons <br />of materials to beeligible for these funds. <br /> <br />These funds are available for Fiscal Year 1989 (July 1, 1988 to <br />June 30, 1989). The City is expected to match no less than <br />$4501.00 through this program. Only a portion of this $4501.00 <br />was included in the budget for the 1988 Landfill Abatement Plan <br />as thePlanaddresses only 1988 activities and funding. <br /> <br />Rec~mL~ndation: <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Authorize the execution of a joint powers agreement with <br />Anoka County for the second distribution of Metropolitan <br />Council local recycling development grant funds for Fiscal <br />Year 1989. <br /> <br /> <br />
