Voting No: ~one. <br /> <br />Case 98: Adovt Ordlnance Amending Curfew And Loitering Re~ulatlons: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adopt <br />Ordinance ~88-6 amending curfew and loitering regulations. (Refer to <br />ordinance file for Ordinance #88-6). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Receive Bids For Outdoor Warn]n~ Sirens; <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley reported that the City rerceived two bids for an outdoor <br />warning system; low bidder was Electric Systems of Anoka, Inc. <br /> <br />Tommy Thompson of Federal Signal Corporation was presented and requested <br />that City Council delay awarding the bid until they have reviewed his <br />firm's alternate bid for a new type of system that can save the City money <br />and time in the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley no~ed that Federal Signal Corporation's alternate bid was not <br />consistent with Ramsey.fs specifications and is therefore not being <br />considered. <br /> <br />Terry Lehn of Electric Systems of Anoka was present and stated that Mr. <br />Thompson is proposing a prototype system that is not proven yet. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding whether or not the number and size of sirens <br />specified in the specs will give adequate coverage for Ramsey. Mr. Hartley <br />stated that it is the City's responsibility to determine the number, size <br />and location of sirens to achieve adequate coverage. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that the specs did not include radio equipment necessary <br />to interface with Anoka County dispatching. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />adopt Resolution 488-114 receiving bids and authorizing purchase of an <br />outdoor warning siren system from Electric Systems of Anoka, Inc. (Refer <br />to resolution file for Resolution #88-114). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: M~yor Reimann~ Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox~ <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case ~; Introduce Ordinance Amendin? City Charter; <br /> <br />Mr. Eartley stated that he met with the Charter Commission and they are <br />recommending an amendment to the City Chzrter to adjust filing dates for <br />the Office of M~yor and City Council to correlate with State law. <br /> <br />City Council/June 28, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 12 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
