CC Regular Session Meeting Date: 07/ 11 /2023 Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention Information Title: Motion to Accept the City Administrator's Annual Performance Evaluation Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to accept the City Administrator's annual performance evaluation. As part of the City Administrator's annual performance evaluation, direct reports, members of the City Council and City Administrator Brian Hagen completed their portion of the performance evaluation. Subsequently, the results were compiled and the Mayor and City Administrator met to discuss the results of the evaluation. At the June 27, 2023, City Council work -session, the Council met in a closed session to conduct the annual performance evaluation of City Administrator Hagen, as required by his employment agreement. The session was closed pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 13D.05, subdivision 3(a) which states, in part "A public body may close a meeting to evaluate the performance of an individual who is subject to its authority. At its next open meeting, the public body shall summarize its conclusions regarding the evaluation." At the June 27, 2023 closed meeting, the City Council concluded, by consensus, that Mr. Hagen's performance meets expectations and that his annual performance evaluation would be accepted and formally adopted at the July 11, 2023, City Council meeting.
