Mr. Aiden Berthiaume met the necessary training and
experience threshold and was invited to take part in the City's interview process, the physical agility fitness
testing, and the "shoot/don't shoot" video scenario activity. Staff selected Mr. Berthiaume as a finalist to be
advanced through the background testing. At this time, Chief Katers is recommending Mr. Berthiaume for the
position of Police Officer with the City of Ramsey.
With the City Council's authorization, Mr. Berthiaume will start as the City's newest Police Officer on or near
July 31, 2023. Mr. Berthiaume, as with all new Police Officers, will serve a 1-year probationary period and will
be subject to the City's Personnel Policy and the LELS Patrol Labor Agreement.
Notification:
All Police Officers are covered by the LELS - Patrol Labor Agreement.
Funding Source:
The funding required for this position is included in the 2023 budget and represents a saving over the previous
employee in this role.
Recommendation:
Authorize staff to hire Mr.Aiden Berthiaume as a full-time Police Officer, effective on or near July 31. 2023 at
$32.460 per hour which is step 1 of the 2023 wage scale.
Action:
Motion to hire Mr. Aiden Berthiaume as a full-time Police Officer, effective on or near July 31, 2023 at $32.460
per hour, which is step 1 of the 2023 wage scale.
Job Description
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Brian Hagen Brian Hagen 07/06/2023 11:31 AM
Form Started By: Katie Schmidt Started On: 06/30/2023 03:02 PM
