5. 6. <br />CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />07/ 11 /2023 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention <br />Information <br />Title <br />Authorization to Hire a Police Officer Filling a Current Vacancy in the Patrol Division <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to request the City Council to hire a Police Officer, backfilling a current Police Officer <br />vacancy that was created when a Police Officer retired. <br />An internal and external recruitment was conducted. Mr. Aiden Berthiaume met the necessary training and <br />experience threshold and was invited to take part in the City's interview process, the physical agility fitness <br />testing, and the "shoot/don't shoot" video scenario activity. Staff selected Mr. Berthiaume as a finalist to be <br />advanced through the background testing. At this time, Chief Katers is recommending Mr. Berthiaume for the <br />position of Police Officer with the City of Ramsey. <br />With the City Council's authorization, Mr. Berthiaume will start as the City's newest Police Officer on or near <br />July 31, 2023.
