Chairman Greenberg asked the Commission their opinion on renaming the City.
Commissioner Gorecki said that the City's name obviously conflicts with
Ramsey County; the City should take advantage of the County's recognition.
The Commission agreed that the City is becoming more well known in the
metro area. 'Commissioner Wagner stated that if Ramsey could get its own
zip code, there would be less confusion and a greater community identity.
Chairman Greenberg commented that he is concerned that the City will never
be able to separate its identity from Ramsey County. Commissioner Ippel
stated that many of the businesses are hesitant to use a Ramsey mailing
address because most of their customers identify them with Anoka and will
think they have moved. Commissioner Gorecki coma~nted that the City should
be less timid in promoting itself and the name; recognition needs to be
increased among residents and corporate citizens. Commissioner Gorecki
asked if this should be discussed at the April 27 meeting.

Chairman Greenberg discussed the proposed corridor for a future Mississippi
River crossing. Chairman Greenberg suggested that the City needs to
establish a policy for acquiring (purchasing) right-of-way for future
corridor alignments. Chairman Greenberg asked that this matter be
discussed at the April 27 meeting.

Commissioner Fults noted that the City needs someone to coordinate
implementation of the study; the number one priority should be establishing
a thoroughfare plan, then land uses and then timing of utilities.

Chairman Greenberg requested that the following items be included on the
agenda for the April 27 meeting:

· 1. Who is responsible for coordinating implementation of the study?
2. Assign commissions/committees tasks.
3.
