Information Title Adopt Resolution #23-178 Approving Construction Staking Services Proposal for 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06 Purpose/Background: Purpose: The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #23-178 approving construction staking services proposal for 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06. Background: On July 25, 2023, City Council adopted Resolution #23-169, awarding a construction contract to North Valley, Inc. for the 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06. Construction staking is essential to the construction of said improvements, and City Staff does not have the capacity to perform construction staking in-house. Bolton & Menk submitted a proposal for construction staking of the proposed improvements for a total not -to -exceed amount of $2,304.00. City Staff proposes to administer and inspect construction. Plans and specifications were prepared in-house as part of Staffs normal duties. Notification: Notifications are not required as part of this case. Funding Source: On July 25, 2023, City Council adopted Resolution #23-169 awarding a construction contract to North Valley, Inc. for the 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06 in the bid amount of $498,917.55. Adding indirect costs in the amount of 14-percent, the total project costs are $568,766.01. Bolton & Menk submitted a proposal for construction staking of the proposed improvements for a total not -to -exceed amount of $2,304.00. The construction staking is included in the indirect project costs, and proposed to be paid with Municipal State Aid Funds. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting Resolution #23-178 approving construction staking services proposal for 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06. Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #23-178 approving construction staking services proposal for 2023 MSA Pavement Overlay Improvements, Improvement Project #23-06.
