Information Title Adopt Resolution #23-189 Approving Change Order #1 for Barthel's Rum River Acres 2nd Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #23-05 Purpose/Background: Purpose: The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #23-189 approving Change Order #1 for Barthel's Rum River Acres 2nd Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #23-05. Background: During project construction City Staff was made aware of a drainage issue in the front and side yards of 5664 and 5720 164h Avenue NW. The shared swale between the two properties has at some point filled, no longer allowing storm water runoff to flow south to the existing low area within drainage & utility easements as intended with the original subdivision plat and grading. Because of this water backs up in the front yard of 5664 164th Avenue NW. As part of Improvement Project #23-05 subsoil correction and drain tile is being installed. Because the drain tile can potentially carry storm water runoff to this area quicker, the potential for a larger impact from storm water backing up outside of the drainage & utility easement areas exist. With this change order the drainage swale will be re -graded back to original designs, carrying the storm water runoff to the existing low area with drainage and utility easements and preventing it from backing up in the front yard of 5664 164th Avenue NW. Revised plan sheets and estimate for the change order is attached to this case. Notification: If Council approves Change Order #1, Staff will notify the residents impacted by Change Order #1 with updates on the project status. Observations/Alternatives: Alternatives: Motion to adopt Resolution #23-189 approving Change Order #1 for Barthel's Rum River Acres 2nd Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #23-05. Funding Source: Funding for Change Order #1 is proposed to come from Stormwater Utility Funds. Change Order #1 increases the estimated construction costs by $18,490.45 . An estimate for Change Order #1 is attached to this case. Recommendation:
