Equipment, for which the primary purpose is private or personal/recreational use may be <br />4 parked: <br />5 (i) In the front yard if on a driveway. <br />6 (ii) In the side yard on a residential parking surface of bituminous pavement, concrete, <br />7 or Class V of at least two inches in depth, that is applied to the entire area beneath <br />8 the equipment and extending 12 inches around the perimeter of the equipment. <br />9 (iii) In the rear yard on an unimproved surface. <br />10 c. An alternative surface, such as pervious pavement, may be considered with appropriate base <br />11 and approval of the zoning administrator. <br />12 {4} Residents shall bc allowed to have one unlicensed, ine-perablc motor vchicic that may bc storcd <br />13 outdoors This motor vchicic shall not bc permitted to bc storcd in the-f-Font yard or driveway. <br />14 This motor vchicic must bc storcd in the side or rear y on a prepare-d surface and must be <br />15 completely screened from adjacent properties and right of way. This motor vchicic shall still <br />16 be subject to the city's public nuisance regulations. <br />17 (4) The material for the prepared parking surface must be at least two inches in depth. It is <br />18 reiterated that City Codc requires the surface to bc applied under the entire motor vehicle or <br />19 equipment and extend 12 inches beyond the perimeter of the motor vehicle or equipment. <br />20 (5) At no time shall a motor vehicle or equipment be parked such that any portion of the motor <br />21 vehicle or equipment extends into a sidewalk or trail, as these arc considered public rights of <br />22 way. <br />23 (C) Commercial use motor vehicles and equipment may be parked outside for short-term periods, <br />24 defined as eight hours or less in one 24-hour period, or for longer periods under the following <br />25 conditions: <br />26 (1) Inside the MUSA: <br />27 a. Said items shall be screened to a degree of 75 percent at ground level view from the public <br />28 right-of-way and adjacent properties. <br />29 b. Said items shall be parked only in the side or rear yard of the subject property and said items <br />30 shall be parked on a residential parking surface that consists of bituminous pavement or <br />31 concrete. <br />32 c. Commercial use motor vehicles and equipment intended to be parked outside that cannot <br />33 meet criteria established in subsections (C)(1)a. and b. above, but can provide for alternatives <br />34 to same, shall be required to obtain an interim use permit or home occupation permit, where <br />35 applicable. <br />36 d. Commercial use motor vehicles and equipment shall count towards the total number of <br />37 allowable items that may be stored outside as defined in this section. <br />38 (2) Outside the MUSA: <br />39 a. Said items shall be screened to a degree of 50 percent at ground level view from the public <br />40 right-of-way and adjacent properties. <br />41 b. Said items shall be parked only in the side or rear yard of the subject property and said items <br />42 shall be parked on a residential parking surface that consists of bituminous pavement, <br />43 concrete, or Class V with a minimum of a two-inch base. <br />44 c. Commercial use motor vehicles and equipment intended to be parked outside that cannot <br />45 meet criteria established in subsection (C)(2)a. and b. above, but can provide for alternatives <br />46 to same, shall be required to obtain an interim use permit or home occupation permit, where <br />47 applicable. <br />48 d. Commercial use motor vehicles and equipment shall count towards the total number of <br />49 allowable items that may be stored outside as defined in this section. <br />Page 66 of 160 <br />
