PROPOSED DWELLING UNIT DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />Dwelling Unit- A residential building or portion thereof intended for occupancy by one <br />household including apartments but not including motels, nursing homes, seasonal <br />cabins, boarding or rooming houses, tourist homes, or camper trailers. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Attached- A dwelling which is joined to another at one or more sides by a <br />party wall. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Detached- A dwelling unit not attached to another dwelling or structure. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Single Family- A dwelling unit designed exclusively for occupancy by one <br />household. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Two-Family (Duplex) - A dwelling designed exclusively for occupancy by <br />two (2) households living independently of each other. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Twinhome- A building containing two attached dwelling units, side-by-side, <br />that share common walls at the lot line that are on separate lots. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Townhonse- A structure in which the unit(s) are individually owned, and the <br />yards and private streets are held in common ownership by a homeowners' association. <br />Townhouses can be attached or detached, and are defined by the existence of commonly <br />owned yard, lawn, landscaping, parks and/or private streets. Townhouses have at least <br />one individual, outdoor entrances per unit. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Triplex, and Quad. "Triplex," and "quad" are dwelling units on a single lot, <br />with three or four units, respectively, being attached by common walls and each unit <br />equipped with separate sleeping, cooking, eating, living, and sanitation facilities and <br />individual entrances. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Multiple (Apartment or Condominium)- A building designed with more <br />than four (4) dwelling units exclusively for occupancy by more than four (4) households <br />living independently of each other but sharing hallways, main entrances and exits. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Guest cottage or Accessory Apartment. A structure used as a dwelling unit <br />that may contain sleeping spaces and kitchen and bathroom facilities in addition to those <br />provided in the primary dwelling unit on a lot. <br /> <br />Dwelling, Manufactured or modular Home - A structure, transportable in one or more <br />sections, which in the traveling mode, is eight (8) body feet or more in width and forty <br />(40) body feet or more in length, or, when erected on site, is 320 or more square feet, and <br />which is built on a permanent chassis and designated to be used as a dwelling with or <br />without a permanent foundation when connected to the required utilities, and includes the <br /> <br /> <br />
