TROTT BROOK GREENWAY - ACIq2NOWLEDGE ACQUISITIONS By: Mark Riverblood, Parks Supervisor Background: On March 14th, 2006 Staff apprised City Council on the status of the Trott Brook Greenway project, and also received authorization to purchase three larger tracts of land (either by easement or Fee Shnple). Two of those properties have been secured - equating to 57 acres. At that time it was also discussed that future acquisitions would be done via the Council Consent Agenda. The ptu~0ose of this casa th.an, is to acknowledge several more (mostly small) tracts that either has been secared, or that may be over the course of the next 6 weeks (all acquisitions and disbursements must be complete before June 30th of 2006). Observ,,tti{ms: Attached is a map that shows the 8 parcels mentioned above. In solid are the b,vo latest properties that have been secured; with the tentative ones crosshatched. The easement language for these p'arcels is similar to what had been discussed earlier in this project - with individual property owner's concerns addressed within the easement document. It is anticipated that if Council is'able to meet with the Park and Recreation Commission oz~ June 8t}', 2006, that a closing summary of the success of this State funded project would be presented at that time. Stail' recommendation: By approving the Consent Agenda, Council is acknowledging that the above parcels have been, or may be acquired utilizing LCMR funds; subject to all applicable laws; and approval by botl~ the City At[orney and Administrator. Council Action: Motion to approve the acquisition of the referenced properties for the Trott Brook Greenwa7; utilizing LCMR f'unds and subject to all applicable laws, and approval by both the CityAttomey and Administrator.
