At the eonch~sion of the 2005 construction season the contractor for this project requested <br />consideration of a nm'nber cost increases based upon changes encountered during the <br />construction. Attached is Change Order No 1, which describes each changed item for which staff' <br />is recommending for approval along with justification for each change. The total amount of the <br />changes is $8,117. All of the changes relate to storm water issues and the increase cost will be <br />charged to the stoml water utility. Staff recorm-nends that the Cmrn-nittee recommend to City <br />Council approval of Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $8,117 to be funded from the Storm <br />Water [ltilJty. <br /> <br />ivlotion to recomnrend to City Council approval of Change Order No 1 in the amount of $8,117 <br />to be funded from the Storm Water Utility. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Rati fy the recom mendation of the Public Works Conzmittee, <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />Green Valley Greenhouse Appeal of Storm Water Utility Fees <br /> <br />At tile request of Green Valley Greenhouse the Public Works Committee's recommendation on <br />this case will be discussed at the City Council meeting of June 11, 2006. <br /> <br />COMMITTIgE/STAFF INPUT - Discuss First Right of Refusal fol' a Future Street <br />Connection hetwecn River Pines and 7Proposed Rum River Meadows Subdivisions <br /> <br />Sta£f discussed with tile Public Works Committee a recommendation that came out of tile <br />proposed Rum River Meadows subdivision approval process that a future location for a <br />counecting street this subdivision m~d the existing River Pines subdivision be identified to <br />eliminate thc excessively long col de sac which has no practical alteruative due to wetland <br />constraints, it was suggested that the City attempt to obtain a First Right of Refusal on one or <br />more properties which might facilitate this future comlection. Attached is a figure which <br />illustrales four properties which could provide a reasonable avenue for a future street connection. <br />The committee concluded that the property in line with the extension of Neon Street in the <br />River Pines subdivision represented the best opportunity to make this future ~onnection since it <br />would cornpletely eliminate the Chi de sac in the Rum River Estates subdivision and it avoid the <br />ct'eat/on of of Cset intersections with Osmium, and Neon streets.
