Councilman Sorteberg introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 80- 30a <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE AND COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO EN- <br />FORCE ALL STATE LAWS REGARDING THE ENFORCEMENT OF LITTER ON CITY STREETS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State <br />of Minnesota, has received numerous complaints from the citizens of the <br />City of Ramsey about the litter being spilled on their streets by citizens <br />going to the Ramsey Landfill. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State <br />of Minnesota, has received a complaint from Waste Management, Inc. request- <br />ing that the City enforce the State law regarding the littering of the <br />City streets. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) Request that the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety <br />direct his State Highway Patrol to enforce the litter law on all State <br />Highways in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> 2) Request that the Anoka County Sheriff direct his Deputy <br />Sheriffs to enforce the litter law on all county highways in the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br /> 3) The City of Ramsey has directed its Police Department to <br />enforce the State litter law on all highways and streets. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilman Mickelson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, Mickelson and <br />Cox <br /> <br />and the following voted against: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 19th day of May, 1980. <br /> <br />ATT : <br /> <br />fi~t~ator/Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
