Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-44 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CREATING A RAMSEY LANDFILL COMMITTEE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is concerned by the fears <br />raised by citizens who reside within the vicinity of the Ramsey Land- <br />fill of health hazards, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is also very concerned of <br />the maintenance of the landfill in that it is maintained so that no <br />pollution will occur to residential wells, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is also very concerned of <br />the litter to the City's country side the Ramsey Landfill creates. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That there be created a Ramsey Landfill Advisory Committee <br />consisting of five (5) members including the Advisory Commission Chair- <br />man). <br /> <br />2) The duties of this Advisory Committee would be as follows: <br /> <br />a) To serve as liason between the Ramsey City Council and <br /> the citizens. <br /> <br />To see that the operation of the landfill is being <br />conducted in accordance with the current agreement <br />and permit. <br /> <br />To meet with citizens who have complaints about the <br />landfill operation and get them resolved. <br /> <br />d) To meet with Waste Management where there are valid <br /> citizens complaints. <br /> <br />e) To meet and keep the City Council informed of any <br /> policy violation created at the Ramsey Landfill <br /> which has a health hazard, environmental hazard, <br /> or blight affect to the country side, or major <br /> nuisance to the citizens. <br /> <br /> 3) That adequate fmading be provided in the budget to pro- <br />vide for professional assistance and secretarial or other ancillary cost <br /> <br /> <br />
