Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80-45 P~SOLUTION REQUESTING CERTAIN ITEMS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY WASTE MANAGE- MENT, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, Anoka County, State of~[innesota is requesting that Waste Management Corporation accomplish the following matter for the health, safety and financial concerns of the City of Ramsey. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF P~EY, ANO~ COUNTY, MINNESOTA as follows: 1) That Waste Management, Inc. do accomplish water tests of ten (10) homes that are in the direct peripheral of the landfill and adjacent to well #5. Further that the City be allowed to select the firm who will conduct tests. 2) Prepare several test wells to check out why well #5 has such high nitrates. 3) That Waste Management, Inc. pay the City of Ramsey 25~ per cubic yard for waste deposited at Ram@ey Landfill. 4) That Waste Management, Inc. maintain a berm between the landfill and residential property so as to keep water run-off from the residential properties. 5) That Waste Management, Inc. provide, and maintain a tobogganing/sliding area during winter months and access to it. 6) That an escrow f~nd be set up to cover the cost of pro- viding a water system should the well water in the residential area in the landfill vicinity become polluted. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Cox and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Mickelson, Reimann and Cox and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Co~uncil this the 27th day of May, 1980.
