Councilman Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80-50 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MINZVKIM BOND REQUIREMENTS WHERE CONSTRUCTION, NOT CONTRACTED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, IS PERi'OR, D WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF- WAY ON ANY CITY STREET WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is a local unit of government located in Anoka County, Minnesota, and WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is sworn to uphold the law and act in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of its residents, and WHEREAS, during construction, damages occur to street sur- facing as well as boulevards, and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has no guarantee that said dam- ages will be repaired, and WHEREAS, if said damages are not repaired by the contractor involved, repair of said damages become a burden on the residents of the City of Ramsey. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby establishes the following bonding requirements: a) The minimum cash deposit, certified check, cashiers check or bond for any construction shall be in the amount of $1,000, payable to the City of Ramsey and said cash deposit, certified check, cashiers check or bond shall remain in force and guarantee any work for a period of one year. b) Where street crossings are a part of the construction, the cash deposit, certified check, cashiers check or bond shall be increased in the amount of $500 per street crossing. c) No work shall commence until such time as the cash deposit, certified check, cashiers check or bond is received by the City and a permit is issued. d) The permit fee for said construction is hereby es- tablished at $15.00.
