Cotuacilman Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #80-11la <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the City Council, City of Ramsey adopted its reso- <br />lution #80-75 dated August 15, 1980 which Resolution requested certain in- <br />formation from various state and comaty agencies concerning the habitability <br />of certain resident's homes on the West side of the Anoka landfill, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in response to said Resolution, Anoka County, under a <br />letter dated September 15, 1980 from Ralph McGinley, Executive Secretary <br />to Anoka County Board of Commissioners advised the City of Ramsey in a gen- <br />eral way of certain conclusions which had been made concerning the landfill <br />and its environmental effects, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the information supplied in the County's September 15, <br />1980 letter lacks detail and supplies no specific data, numbers, etc., and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council undertakes its obligation to <br />protect the health and welfare of its citizens very seriously, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Comncil desires to know all the facts <br />from which the conclusions in the Comaty's September 15, 1980, letter were <br />based. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That all related county and state agencies supply the <br />specific data from which the County based its' opinion and conclusions pre- <br />sented in its September 15, 1980 letter. <br /> <br /> 2) That the County delineate by a map the specific location <br />of the "West" side of the landfill for purposes of the City ta~owing where, <br />from May through October dumping is prohibited. <br /> <br /> 3) That a specific emergency plan be developed in case evacu- <br />ation of the residences is necessary, including a plan for defraying the <br />related costs of implementing the emergency plan. <br /> <br /> 4) That the County provide the Co~unty's Comprehensive Health <br />Department's schedule of inspection at the landfill~ which schedule has <br />been requested on numerous occasions by the City. <br /> <br /> The Council hereby directs that a copy of this resolution be <br />forwarded to the Governor's office, Metropolitan Council, Anoka County, <br />PCA and the State Health Department. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilman Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox <br /> <br /> <br />
