Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoptionl <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #80-152 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE ADVISABILITY OF CONTINUING THE FRANCHISING <br />PROCESS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is included in an approved cable <br />service territory which includes three (3) other cities in the major metro- <br />politan suburban area~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey shall be the franchising authority <br />for the cable system to be installed within its corporate bomadaries~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed and will continue <br />to be informed about cable communications by its representative to the <br />Anoka/Champlin/Ramsey Cable Commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has assessed the communication <br />needs of the persons residing within the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the summary of the needs assessments of the City of <br />Ramsey is publicly available from the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the needs assessments indicate certain cable communi- <br />cation needs of the citizens of Ramsey which would be satisfied by a cable <br />cormmunications system. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RA~EY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That it is advisable at this time to continue the franchising <br />process through participation in the Anoka/Champlin/Ramsey Cable Commission. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilman Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Mickelson, Reimann and Cox <br />and the following voted against the ss~e: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 25th day of November, 1980. <br /> <br /> <br />
