Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoptionl RESOLUTION #80-152 RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE ADVISABILITY OF CONTINUING THE FRANCHISING PROCESS WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is included in an approved cable service territory which includes three (3) other cities in the major metro- politan suburban area~ and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey shall be the franchising authority for the cable system to be installed within its corporate bomadaries~ and WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed and will continue to be informed about cable communications by its representative to the Anoka/Champlin/Ramsey Cable Commission; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has assessed the communication needs of the persons residing within the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, the summary of the needs assessments of the City of Ramsey is publicly available from the City; and WHEREAS, the needs assessments indicate certain cable communi- cation needs of the citizens of Ramsey which would be satisfied by a cable cormmunications system. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RA~EY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That it is advisable at this time to continue the franchising process through participation in the Anoka/Champlin/Ramsey Cable Commission. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Mickelson, Reimann and Cox and the following voted against the ss~e: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 25th day of November, 1980.
