Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its
adoption:

RESOLUTION #82-73

RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE CITY OF RAMSEY RECEIVE EQUAL FUNDING IN CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS OF RECREATION EQUIPMENT AS HAVE OTHER CITIES IN THE ANOKA-HENNEPIN
SCHOOL DISTRICT #11

WHEREAS, other Cities located in the Anoka-Hennepin School District
#11 have through the years received considerable assistance in the development
of their recreation. Capital improvements have been done through School District
#11 participation.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY,
STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows:

1) It is requested that the City of Ramsey be afforded the same amount
of investment in capital improvements for recreational facilities as has occurred
in other Cities in Anoka-Hennepin School District #11 over the years. This in-
vestment that the City of Ramsey refers to is when a school is built in a community,
it also provides that community with a major recreational facility. Consequently,
the City of Ramsey is cognizant of the many schools that have been constructed
in the Cities of Anoka, Coon Rapids, Blaine, etc. Accordingly, Ramsey is request-
ing a per rata share of capital improvements to be invested in Ramsey as has been
in the above mentioned Cities.

2) Further, the City of Ramsey is requesting that the School District
#11 contribution to the City of Ramsey's community school's program should be in-
creased to reduce the Ramsey citizen's cost if the City can't be reimbursed for
capital improvements in recreational facilities as the Cities listed above have
received from the District.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof:

Councilmembers Cox, Reimann and Sorteberg

and the following voted against the same:

Councilmember Van Wagner

and the following member was absent:

Mayor Gamec

whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City

Council this the 25th day of May, 1982.

Councilmember Sue/ran Wagner

Councilmember Allen Sorteb~rg
