Councilmember Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #82-99 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING AND AWARDING BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #82-10 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Street Im- <br />provement Projects #82-2, #82-3, #82-4, #82-5, #82-6, #82-7, #82-8 and <br />#82-9, the Ramsey Municipal Center driveway and lower level parking lot <br />(#82-10) were included in conjunction with the Street projects in order <br />to obtain a better price; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, bids were received, opened and tabulated according <br />to law and the following bids were received complying with the adver- <br />tisement: <br /> <br />Contractor <br /> <br />Total Bid <br /> <br />Buffalo Bituminous Inc. <br />A. R. I. Contracting Inc. <br />Aero Asphalt, Inc. <br />Hardrives, Inc. <br /> <br />$8,840.00 <br /> 6,670.00 <br /> 7,150.00 <br /> 8,190.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that A.R.I. Contracting of Eveleth, <br />Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder. However, the best overall <br />bid for the Street Improvement Projects was from Buffalo Bituminous Inc. <br />of Buffalo, Minnesota. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> l) The City Council accepts the bid of Buffalo Bituminous, <br />Inc., of Buffalo, Minnesota in the amount of $8,840.00. <br /> <br /> 2) The City Council qualified the above action taken by them <br />due to the fact that the overall bid for Street Improvement Projects #82-2, <br />#82-3, #82-4, #82-5, #82-6, #82-7, #82-8 and #82-9 by Buffalo Bituminous <br />was the lowest responsible bid received. <br /> <br /> 3) The mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed <br />to enter into a contract with Buffalo Bituminous, Inc. of Buffalo, Minnesota <br />for the improvement of the Ramsey municipal Center driveway and lower level <br />parking lot (#82-10) according to the plans and specifications therefor <br />approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br /> 4) The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return <br />to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits <br />of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until <br />a contract has been signed. <br /> <br /> <br />
