Councilmember Cox introduced the following Resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION 82-119 <br />City of Ramsey <br />Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Landfill Site P is in the process of being designated by Anoka County <br />and the Metropolitan Council; and <br /> <br /> W/{EREAS, the Ramsey City Council met on August 4, 1982 with Metropolitan Council <br />Staff and asked numerous questions relating to the economic and environmental impact <br />of Site P; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the various questions have yet to be answered by the relevant agencies; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is working toward getting a study completed such <br />that its questions can be conclusively answered; and <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, Ramsey has yet to see proposed legislation which will solve Ramsey's <br />environmental and economic concerns relating to the landfill; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey's questions should have been answered and addressed prior to the <br />County and Metropolitan Council coming to the City and stating a landfill will be in <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Ramsey City Council will not act in any manner for or against <br />proposed Site P unless and until its questions are satisfactorily answered, which <br />questions were posed in Ramsey's Resolution #82-108, a copy of which is attached <br />hereto. <br /> <br /> 2. That further processing on the selection of Site P be put into abeyance <br />until Ramsey's questions are thoroughly addressed and comprehensively answered. <br /> <br /> 3. That a response to this resolution be received by Ramsey from both Anoka <br />County and the Metroplitan Council within 10 days of its receipt. <br /> <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Councilmember Cox <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br />Councilmember Sorteberg <br /> Councilmember Reimann <br /> <br /> <br />
