Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #82-128 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Ad Hoc Landfill Abatement Advisory <br />Committee was established to study suitabilitus abatement methods and <br />policies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey's appointed representative to the <br />above commission has requested Ramsey City Council's input on the follow- <br />ing Anoka County Abatement priority issues which she will have to act on <br />at the October 11, 1982 meeting: <br /> <br />a) Decide the suitability of RDF fuel <br /> <br />b) Decide the suitability of clay digester <br /> <br />c) Decide the suitability of alternative methods <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey's Representative stated to the <br />Ramsey City Council that she has problems with the all the above issues <br />and hereby submits her comments and recommendation to these issues: <br /> <br /> a) Suitability of RDF - My recommendation on this is that <br />we following Hennepin County, Carver, County, Dakota County, Ramsey County <br />policies and procedures as they have done indepth studies which they re- <br />viewed other options in regards to pollution and costs effectives of other <br />methods. <br /> <br /> b) Suitability of claydigestus - My recommendation on the clay- <br />digester that it not be used in Anoka County and my reasons on this position <br />is as follows: <br /> <br />1) Experimental technology <br /> <br />2) Does not lesson the long dependence of land disposal <br /> <br />3) Does not achieve environmental safety by reducing <br />pollution air to waters. <br /> <br /> c) Suitability Alternative methods - If all of the primary <br />methods and options cannot be instituted for waste abatement, it is then <br />my recommendation that source separation of solid waste material be utilized <br />for the County. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City COuncil reviewed all of the above stated <br />contents with their representative and concurred with her recommendation. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
