Councilman Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />#82-130 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE QUAD CITIES CABLE COMMUNICATIONS <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is included in an approved cable service <br />territory in the major metropolitan suburban area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey has granted a cable communications franchise to Group <br />W Cable of the Quad Cities, said franchise being certified by the Minnesota State <br />Cable Communications Board on June 11, 1982; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is of the utmost importance for communities to attempt <br />to deal with the franchising administration process and with regulation of cable <br />television in a manner best serving the public interest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey deems it proper and in the public interest to enter <br />into a Joint and Cooperative Agreement presented at this meeting and on file in <br />the Office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That Ramsey participate in the Quad Cities Cable Communications <br />Commission. <br /> <br /> 2) That the appropriate official execute the Joint and Cooperative <br />Agreement and file it with the City Administrator of the City of Champlin. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Van Wagner and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann, Van Wagner, Cox and Sorteberg <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 28th day of September, 1982. <br /> <br />Mayo r <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br />./~y~dmi~ ra~o~l er k <br /> <br /> <br />
