Councilmember Reimann introduced the following motion and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83--77 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County, the City of Anoka and the City of Ramsey have jointly <br />communicated regarding a model project to extract methane gas from the landfill <br />located in Ramsey and supply said methane gas to a local industry in Ramsey, <br />specifically, Waltec Inc., and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey finds such a project to be beneficial to its best interests <br />and economic welfare; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey finds that the creation of a landfill board would be <br />beneficial in assuring that the project goes forward and Ramsey's interests are <br />protected; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey does not agree with the proposed funding formula contained <br />in the contract, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Ramsey City Council as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Mayor of Ramsey is authorized to execute the Joint Powers <br />Agreement attached hereto, Except that paragraph VIII (Funding, Section 1) <br />as it relates to Ramsey's expenditure of $61,078.00 is not agreed to and <br />said section will need to be further negotiated prior to Ramsey's <br />acceptance. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Counctlmember Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec and Councilmembers Sorteberg and Reimann <br /> <br />and the following voted no: <br /> <br />and the following member abstained: <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter <br /> <br />and the following member was absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br /> <br /> <br />
