Councilmember Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #83-118 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council has discussed at joint <br />meetings with the Anoka City Council the upgrading and extending of <br />Thurston Avenue to intersect with Industrial Blvd. NW for the follow- <br />ing reasons: <br /> <br />--To provide a better route for citizens of Ramsey <br /> and Anoka to reach State Highway #10 <br /> <br />--To reduce traffic congestion on State Highway #47 <br /> <br />--To provide a safer route of distant traveling north <br /> of State Highway #10 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is planning development <br />north of County Road #116 (Industrial Blvd. NW) which will add an <br />increased burden on the present over-congested State Highway #10. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The City of Ramsey requests that the City of Anoka <br />proceed with the extension of Thurston Avenue to intersect County <br />Road #116 (Industrial Blvd. NW). <br /> <br /> 2) That a joint meeting be held between the City of <br />Ramsey and the City of Anoka with County Commissioners Erhart and <br />llaas present to discuss financing and scheduling of this project. <br /> <br /> 3) That the alignment of this proposed road be jointly <br />determined by the two communities for use. <br /> <br /> 4) That the City Administrators of the respective com- <br />munities, along with their engineers, prepare a tentative alignment <br />and schedule the joint meeting. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Mayor Gamec and upon vote being taken thereon, the follow- <br />ing voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann, Sorteberg, Schlueter <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
