Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION ~83-122 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BUDGET CALENDA~ REGARDING REVENDE SHA~ING AND CITY BUDGET W~EREAS, the United States Federal code establishes certain guidelines that municipalities must follow in preparing budgets that include allocations for Federal Revenue Sharing Funds; and WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Statutes establishes certain guidelines in regards to the last date State governmental units may submit tax levies to their respective counties. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The following budget calendar has been established to comply with Federal and State laws: August 12 Publish Notice of "Proposed Use Hearing, for Revenue Sharing Funds. This notice must be published 10 days prior to the hearing. 7:00 p.m. August 16 Hold Budget Committee Meeting to present the 1984 Budget for their review, comments and changes. 7:30 p.m. August 23 Hold "Proposed Use Hearing" for Revenue Sharing Funds. This meeting must be held at least 7 days prior to the proposed bud- get being presented to Council. Regular Council meeting. 7:00 p.m. August 30 Hold Budget Committee Meeting for final approval of 1984 Budget prior to present- ing to full Council. September 2 Publish Notice of "Budget Hearing" for Revenue Sharing Funds. This notice must be published 10 days prior to the hearing and the budget document must be available for inspection at least 10 days before the hearing. September 9 Budget presented to full Council for their reviewal. Must be at least 7 days after the Proposed Use Hearing for Revenue Shar- ing Funds. Page 1 of 2
