Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ~83-175 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPLEMENT TO THE 1984 CITY TOTAL BUDGET <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted the following request <br />via the City Administrator to the Council Budget Committee for their review <br />and action: <br /> <br />Supplement #2 to the City's proposed 1984 Core <br />Operational Budget contains funding for an <br />additional 3/4 of a policeman at the cost of <br />$26,735. The proposed hiring of an additional <br />officer would be in the spring of 1985. This <br />would allow for adequate funding of this person <br />if he is hired as requested. The cost breakdowns <br />which would be attributable to the proposed officer <br />are as follows: <br /> <br />3/4 of police officer salary $19,600 <br />PERA contribution 2,355 <br />Hospitalization 1,125 <br />Maintenance of equipment 150 <br />Workers' compensation 1,105 <br />Fuel and lubricant for car 2,400 <br /> <br />Total $26,735 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council Budget Committee has reviewed the above <br />Supplement #2 request and directed that it be forwarded to the City Council <br />for thier review and action when they review the total proposed 1984 City <br />Operational Budget. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CIT~ OF RAMSEY, ANOKACOUNTY, <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The City Council has reviewed the above request and hereby <br />approves of adding Supplement #2 as stated above to the City's 1984 Operational <br />Budget which only provides for funding for a police officer in 1985. This <br />resolution is not to be construed as a document to hire a police officer. <br /> <br /> 2) <br />departments: <br /> <br />A copy of this resolution will be furnished to the following <br /> <br />Chief of Police - Police Department <br />City Accountant - Finance Department <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Reimann, Sorteberg and Schlueter <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution #83-175 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
