Councilmember Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #83-209 RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF GARAGE DOOR OPENERS AT THE PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE WHEREAS, pursuant to call for price quotes for the purchase of garage door openers at the Public Works Garage for use by the Ramsey City Street Department, the following were received: Bidder Amount of Bid Progressive Handling, Inc. (air power for three doors) $505.00 ea. Industrial Door Company, Inc. (electrical for three doors) $390.00 ea. AND WHEREAS, it appears that Industrial Door Company, Inc. bid in 'the amount of $3g0.00 each door opener had the best price quote. How- ever, it appears that addit%onal electrical cost would be incurred in order to install the electr%cal openers over the air powered openers, in that an electrical contractor would have to be hired to move an entire row of fluorescent fixtures. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramaey hereby accepts the price quote from Progressive Handling, Inc. in the amount of $505.00 for each opener. 2) That the CiTy Council of the City of Ramsey hereby approves the purchase of only one opener for the Public Works Garage, 3) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey qualified the above action taken by them due to the fact of the additional electrical cost involved in the moving of the fluorescent fixtures to install the electrical garage door openers. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gamec and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof; Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg~ Schlueter and Reimann and the following voted agaihnst the same: None and the following member was absent: Councilmember Van Wagner Resolution #83-209 Page i of 2
