Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #84-38 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY IN REGARDS TO MESSAGES <br />TRANSMITTED OVER THE GOVERNMENT ACCESS CHANNEL FROM THE <br />RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER (CHANNEL 10) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Andover, Anoka, Champlin and Ramsey approved <br />Group W Cable for providing Cable T.V. to the Quad Cities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as part of the contract with Group W Cable, a Government <br />Access Channel was installed in the Ramsey Municipal Center to transmit the <br />various activities for the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, various non-profit organizations meet in the lower level of <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center during the course of a month. They are: <br /> <br /> 1) Senior citizens <br /> Z) Jaycees <br /> 3) Ramsey Lions <br /> 4) Girl Scouts <br /> 5) Boy Scouts <br /> 6) Cub Scouts <br /> 7) Brownies <br /> 8) 4-H <br /> 9) Cheerful Chuggers <br />10) AA <br />11) Alanon <br /> RYAA <br />13) Ramsey hockey teams <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been requested to transmit various events being held <br />by these non-profit organizations on the Government Access Channel. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the transmission of <br />various events being scheduled by non-profit organizations on the Government <br />Access Channel. <br /> <br /> Z) That the Ramsey City Council hereby declares that government <br />activities have first priority and that any other annotmcements be transmitted <br />on a first come first serve basis. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Reimann, Schlueter and Sorteberg <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Page 1 of Z <br /> <br /> <br />
