Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ~84-79 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Federal Insurance <br />Administration completed a flood insurance study for the City of Ramsey in May of 1979; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the study established floodway areas throughout the City of Ramsey; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a large portion of the proposed River's Bend plat lying east of State <br />Trunk Highway #47 is located in the floodway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota flood plain regulations (MINN. REG. NR 85) limits the increase <br />in flood heights to 0.5 foot; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the DNR was previously requested to remove a portion of the plat located <br />in the floodway as stated in City Council Resolution ~84-17 dated February Z8, 1984; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since the adoption of Resolution ~84-17, the developer has submitted <br />a preliminary plat of River's Bend showing the platting of additional land within the floodway. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the DNR review the effects of filling the area shown on the attached <br />preliminary plat of River's Bend above the 100 year flood elevation. <br /> <br /> Z) That the DNR remove the area within the River's Bend preliminary plat provided <br />the filling does not increase the flood height by more than 0.5 foot. <br /> <br /> 3) That a copy of this resolution and the attached map be submitted to the DNR. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Reimann, Sorteberg and Schlueter <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the Z4th day of April, 1984. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
