Counci lme~nber Sorteberg moved for its adoption: introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION #84-182 RESEOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO IMPLEMENT THE SECTION 8 EXISTING RENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY WHEREAS, the Metropot iran Counci 1 has been duly organized pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 473.06, subd. 3 and Minnesota Laws 1975, Chapter 13, Section 6, Subd. 3; Section 21, Subd. 1; and redevelopmer, t authority pursuant to Laws 1975, Chapter 13, Section 24 under the provisions of the Municipal Housing and Redevelopment Act, Minnesota Statutes Section 462.411 to 462.711, and acts amer, datory thereof; WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey and the Metropolitan Council desire to assist lower income families and individuals to obtain adequate housing in the City of Ramsey at a price they can afford and to accomplish this purpose desire to undertake a progra~ of subsidizing rent payments to landlords who provide adequate housing to such individuals and families. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Metropolitan Council is hereby authorized to ir~plement a program of rental assistance to lower income families and individuals within the City of Ramsey, and that the City Adr~inistrator/Clerk is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Metropolitan Council for operating the prograr~ within the City. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly secor~ded by Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Schlueter and Rei~,~ann and the following voted against the same: None and the following ~ember was absent: Council~ember Van Wagner whereupor, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 28th day of August, 1984.
