Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and <br />moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #84-216 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING COMPLETING A SELF-EVALUATION OF ALL CITY <br />PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO ESTABLISH COMPLIANCE WITH REVENUE <br />SHARING GUIDELINES PERTAINING TO HANDICAPPED DISCRIMINATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Revenue Sharing Guidelines require that all <br />governmental entities receiving Revenue Sharing Funds must <br />conduct a self-evaluation of all programs and services for the <br />purpose of isolating any handicapped discrimination; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Revenue Sharing Guidelines require that such <br />evaluaion ~ complet~ before Oct~er 17, 1984, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Revenue Sharing Guidelines also require that <br />structural and nonstructural changes be completed by October 17, <br />1984; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Staff conducted an internal <br />evaluation of all City programs and services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey offers basic City services <br />and programs such as police protection, street maintnance, animal <br />control, public improvements, building inspection, planning and <br />zoning, fire protection and general administrative services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City offers the above services to all <br />residents, without discrimination to handicapped individual, s; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Municipal Center (City Hall) <br />provides handicapped access to the upper and lower floors of the <br />building; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Municipal Center (City Hall) <br />provides handicapped restroom facilities on both upper and lower <br />levels; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City must notify the public of changes <br />made to improve programs and services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City must notify the public that the City <br />does not discriminate against handicapped persons in offering <br />programs and services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey published notices in the <br />Anoka County Union, provided a statement of nondiscrimination to <br />the local radio station (KANO radio) and placed a notice on the <br />government access channel on cable television during 1984 in an <br />attempt to notify all persons, <br /> <br />Resolution #84-216 <br /> <br />Pagel of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
