Councilmember Van Wagner introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION %84-233 RESOLUTION APPROVING OF PARTICIPATING IN JOINT COMPENSATION S~3DY (COMPARABLE WORTH ACT) WI~ METRO AREA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, Minnesota "Comparable Worth Act" M.S. 471.991 through 471.999 requires that cities and other political subdivisions establish equitable com- pensation relationship on the basis of "comparable work value"; and WHEREAS, the Metro Area Management Association has requested that all Metro Area Cities join together on doing a joint compensation study through the use of a private consulting firm. The cost of this would be charged on a pro rata basis; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the subject study will be between $3,000 and $5,000. NUN THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~/~E CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, S~I~TE OF MINNESO~, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby approves of participating in the Joint Compensation Study (Comparable Worth Act) with the Metro Area Management Association at a cost not to exceed $5,000.00. 2) That the cost of this study will be charged to Unallocated 101- 4930-1143. 3) That it is further directed that a copy of this resolLltion be furnished to the Accounting Department. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Schlueter and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Councilmembers Van Wagner, Scblueter and Sorteberg and the following voted against the same: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Reimann whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 27th day of November, 1984.
