Councilmember Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #84-236 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF REPLACEMENT POLICE OFFICER TO REPLACE MICHAEL <br />EASON WHO RESIGNED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Michael Eason has submitted his letter of resignation <br />dated November 29, 1984 from the Ramsey Police Department to be effective Decem- <br />ber 15, 1984. A copy of this letter is on file in Mr. Eason's personnel file; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted a memo dated November 30, <br />1984 to the City Administrator stating his recommendations for a replacement for <br />Mr. Eason. Further, the Chief stated verbally on November 30, 1984 the crucial <br />need in filling said position as soon as possible; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Administrator has requested that a special Council <br />meeting be held to take action on filling said position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the above stated information was furnished to the Council at <br />the special meeting with a copy of this resolution. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEYv ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The Council hereby approves/disapproves of hiring Mr. Jeffrey <br />Arneson for the position of police patrol officer with the following require- <br />ments: <br /> <br />a) Effective date of employment is hereby established as December <br /> 4, 1984. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Probationary period shall be for a period of one (1) year ex- <br />piring December 11, 1985 which is in accordance with Article <br />VII of the police labor contract. <br /> <br />c) Salary schedule is hereby established as follows: <br /> <br />First year: December 11, 1984 - December 31, 1985 - paid 79% <br /> of top patrol officer wage. <br /> <br />Second year and thereafter to be paid top patrol officer wage. <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />Proficiency pay shall be paid four (4) years from date of hire <br />providing all requirements contained in Article XX of the <br />police labor contract are met. <br /> <br />2) It is directed that the following be accomplished: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />That a copy of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Jeffrey <br />Arneson explaining conditions of employment in regards to pro- <br />bationary period, salary, work schedule, requirements, etc. <br /> <br />b) That all City fringe benefits be fully explained to him. <br /> <br />c) That all personnel requirements be explained to him by the <br /> Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> <br />
