Councilmember Sorteberg introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION %84-254 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey entered into an agreement with the Ramsey <br />Center Partnership on January 10, 1980 to acquire certain parcels of land from <br />Ramsey Center for the following purposes (enclosure (1) contains a copy of the <br />contract dated January 10, 1980): <br /> <br />a) Interest in the public welfare of the citizens of Ramsey <br />b) Granted deeded property easement for streets and utilities <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, at the Ramsey City Council meeting of January 10, 1980, <br />Council granted approval of the agreement between the City of Ramsey and Ramsey <br />Center and at that meeting Mr. Art Raudio, representing Ramsey Center, requested <br />that any land not needed in the deeded property easement be returned to them. <br />Further, he stated that he would like for the County Engineer to determine the <br />~mount of actual easements needed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Councilman Cox stated at this meeting before Mayor Gamec and <br />Councilmembers Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg, that any land taken for deeded <br />property easement that isn't needed will revert back to the property owner <br />(enclosure (2) contains an excerpt copy of City Council meeting minutes dated <br />January 8, 1980); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Engineer's letter dated December 17, 1984, <br />states that the County does not need an approximately 50' wide deeded property <br />easement on the south side of the proposed Rum River Bridge Crossing (enclosure <br />(3) contains County Engineer's letter dated December 7, 1984); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Art Raudio is requesting that the above stated 50' wide <br />deeded property easement be returned to Ramsey Center. <br /> <br />NOW ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY ~/~E CITY COUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNT/, S~TE OF MINNESO~I~, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) In view of the above documentation, even though the agreement be- <br />tween the City of Ramsey and Ramsey Center does not mention returning excess <br />deeded land easement to Ramsey Center, it appears that this was the intent of <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />2) It is hereby directed that Ordinance %84-21 be introduced. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Van Wagner, Sorteberg, Schlueter and <br />Reimann <br /> <br />Resolution %84-254 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
