Councilmember Sorteberg introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #85-23 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RAMSEY CENTER PARTNERSHIP IN REQUEST TO DEVELOP PROPERTY AT DENSITIES WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey entered into an agreement with the Ramsey Center Partnership on the 10th day of January, 1980; and WHEREAS, by said agreement, the Ramsey Center Partnership deeded some 65 acres to meet the ordinance requirements for parks and open space; and WHEREAS, said parks and open space requirement could have been satisfied by a cash payment; and WHEREAS, Paragraph 5 of said agreement, attached as Exhibit A, addresses variances for lot size and setbacks; and WHEREAS, it was the intent of the City to allow said land to be used for the computation of densities; and WHEREAS, the regulations of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Scenic River Land Use District places undue restrictions on commercial properties served by municipal utilities. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby supports the developer in his request to develop the property at densities as specified by Section 170.015 of the City Ordinance; and 2) That such densities are required to facilitate the installation of public utilities; and 3) That a copy of this resolution be provided to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and that notice of such approval or disapproval will be provided to the City by February 19, 1985; and 4) That a copy of this resolution be provided to the developer, Ramsey Center Partnership.
