Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved <br />for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 985-63 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING REQUEST BY THE DEVELOPER FOR AN ACCESS <br />PERMIT FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ACCESS <br />TO "GENERAL MILLS" PROPERTY FROM HIGHWAY 10 AND ACROSS THE <br />BURLINGTON NOR~/~ERN RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a group of developers is proposing a Planned <br />Unit Development (PUD) for that area located in the City of <br />Ramsey generally known as the "General Mills" property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said General Mills property consists of <br />approximately 1241 acres and the developers propose to construct <br />252 single family homes on this property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the developers have not presented to the <br />City's Zoning Officer their Preliminary Development Plan which is <br />the first procedural step to be taken in the City's PUD approval <br />process; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in informally discussing the development with <br />City Staff, the Planning Commission and City Council certain <br />unresolved questions have arisen including but not limited to the <br />PUD's density; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, not withstanding that the City has taken no <br />position of any kind on the approval/disapproval of the proposed <br />PUD, the developers would like to commence the process of <br />obtaining a Minnesota Department of Transportation permit for <br />access into their property off of Trunk Highway #10 and across <br />the Burlington Northern Railroa Right-of-Way which Highway 10 <br />and railroad right-of-way form the Southwesterly boundary of the <br />subject property. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the City does support the developer's request <br />for an access permit from the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation for access to its property off of Trunk Highway 10 <br />and across the Burlington Northern Railroad Right-of-Way. <br /> <br /> 2) That this resolution in no manner may be construed <br />as the City giving express or implied approval to any part of the <br />Developer ' s proposed PUD. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Schlueter, <br />Reimann and Cox <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
