Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 985-81 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sunfish Lake Blvd. NW (CSAH #5) is a County State Aid <br />Highway and it is the responsibility of the Anoka County Highway Department to <br />keep it in a safe driving condition; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Burlington Northern Railroad has the responsibility of <br />maintaining the railroad grade crossing on Sunfish Lake Blvd. NW in a safe <br />driving condition for motorists using Sunfish Lake Blvd. kW; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Sunfish Lake Blvd. kW is a major arterial route serving the <br />residential, commercial and industrial areas of the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due to the heavy industrial and commercial traffic on <br />Sunfish Lake Blvd. kW, the railroad crossing has deteriorated to a point of <br />becoming a dangerous traffic hazard to the citizens of traverse on this major <br />arterial transportation route. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T~E CITY (I~NCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOVA <br />OOUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) It is hereby requested that the Anoka County Highway Engineer <br />request that Burlington Northern Railroad have the Sunfish Lake Blvd. kW grade <br />crossing repaired during this year's construction period. This crossing <br />receives an exceptional amount of heavy truck traffic due to the landfill. <br /> <br /> 2) It is directed that a copy of this resolution be furnished to the <br />following parties: <br /> <br />Anoka County Highway Engineer Paul Ruud <br />Anoka County Commissioner Natalie Haas <br />Ramsey Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen <br />Burlington Northern Railroad <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Mayor Heitman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Schlueter, <br />Reimann and Cox <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br /> City C°uncil this the 16th day °f April' 118~ ~~~~ <br /> <br /><~'~ ........ ~¥,~/~. ,~/./ '" ,/' :~t ,,/j/.,' t ,.,~ /J~l Mayor ~- <br /> <br /> <br />
