Councilmember Schlueter introduced the following resolution and <br />moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 985-90 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING SPEED LIMIT BE CHANGED FROM 50 M.P.H. TO <br />40 M.P.H. ~N 167TH AVENUE N.W. (MSA ROUTE) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the current speed limit on 167th Avenue N.W. <br />(MSA route) is 50 miles per hour; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has received complaints <br />from the citizens that the current speed limit of 50 miles per <br />hour is too fast for the many vehicles that travel said City <br />street. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That it is requested the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation reduce the speed limit from 50 miles per hour to <br />40 miles per hour on 167th Avenue N.W. (MSA route) between <br />Nowthen Blvd. N.W. (C.S.A.H. #5) and St. Francis Blvd. N.W. <br />(State Highway 947). <br /> <br /> 2) That it is directed that a certified copy of this <br />resolution be furnished to the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation District 95 Office, 2055 Lilac Lane, Golden <br />V~ley, ~nnesotafortheir action on mid request. <br /> <br /> 3) That it is further directed that the Public Works <br />Department and Police Department be furnished copies of said <br />re~lution. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilmember Cox and upon vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Schlueter, Cox, Sorteberg and <br />Reimann <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
