Mayor Reimann introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ~86- 196 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey receives an annual allocation of Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development through Anoka County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in Ramsey Resolution #84-241~ the Ramsey City Council designated <br />the City's 1985 allocation of CDBG funds to be used for economic development <br />activities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these CDBG funds must be completely expended by December 31, <br />1986; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to date, the City has not completely expended these CDBG funds; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is planning to use a portion of the CDBG funds to <br />establish a revolving loan fund through the local development corporation, the <br />Ramsey Economic Development Company, for economic development activities; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is currently reviewing several applications for funds <br />from the economic development revolving loan fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is planning to use the remainder of the CDBG funds for <br />economic development activities such as implementing the Star City program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City anticipates expending these funds in the next six <br />months. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF <br />MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The City of Ramsey hereby requests the County of Anoka to grant the <br />City an extension for the expenditure of the City's 1985 allocation of CDBG <br />funds. <br /> 2) A copy of this resolution be provided to the County Administrator of <br />Anoka County. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Schlueter and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cox, DeLuca, Schlueter and Sorteberg <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution #86~ 196 <br /> <br /> <br />
