Councilmernb~r I'..awden introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #88-171 WdEREAS, it is the desire of the Ramsey City Council to clearly state the policy relating to ~t~; u~;e of the community activity sign at the Ramsey Municipal Center to serve as guidance to ih~; City Staff and the general public. NOW TttEHEFORE, BE tT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSE¥, ~,NO~A COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: ~; That the following policy shall govern the use of the community activity sign at thu R~ms~y Municipal Center: Use (;r,vernmental functions: Offices and City Council Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment All other Commissions Subcommittees of City Council or Commissions Administrative Oq lanized groups: h ) .Senior citizen groups Groups performing a public service (e.g., AA, Mediation Services, educational services, etc.) Groups whose purpose is to perform public services (e.g., Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Ramsey Youth Athletic Association) Groups who wish to use the facility for recreation or routine meetings 3 ,'-;i~urch or religious organizations. ReservaJ~ns_. Reservation:; may be made no more than six (6) months in advance. Reservations must state specificall-¢ tl~e ~nessage to be displayed. The City Administrator or designee may edit the requested n-~e,~:,:;~t9~ without prior notice. Governmem~t ~h~;~:-; should be scheduled at a minimum of three (3) days in advance. However, this requir~¢n',:nt may be waived if the need is great or an emergency exists. Governmental uses may supersede: rc.~y other use with or without reservations if: 1) three (3) days notice is given; and .;') I:h.,'..re is no other practical alternative.
