Councilmemtw~r Bawden introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #88-222 RESOL~ITI(}N AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IS THE MINNESOTA POLICE RECRUITMENT SYSTEM WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is authorized by Minnesota Statutes 471.59 to enter into joint and coopti:rai lye agreements with other governmental units; and WHEREAS, this City Council has reviewed a joint and cooperative agreement among Minnesota munic:ipalities and other law enforcement agencies which has established the Minnesota Police Recruitmc~t System (MPRS); and WI~EREAS, the purpose of the MPRS is to recruit candidates for entry-level police positions in the tx;operating agencies and to assist the cooperating agencies in evaluating candidates for these positions; and WIll,RE/iS, this City Council has determined that it will be advantageous to the City to participate, in thc MPRS. NOW THEI!4tEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSE¥,~ ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: The Mayo.' and the City Administrator hereby are authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, ~he Joint and Cooperative Agreement which has established the MPRS and which provide,?; for City participation therein. Cl'ficf of P(flice and City Administrator hereby are designated as the City's initial Director and Ah'e~ hate Director, respectively, in the MPRS. The C'itlv C;lerk hereby is directed to file a duly executed copy of the Joint and Cooperative Agrcemem as provided therein, together with a certified copy of this Resolution.
